An Easier Way to Achieve Your Goals

I wrote this post last year, and thought that now would be a good time to repost it. Apologies for those of you who have already received this, hopefully it will be a good refresher. Please pass it on if you find it useful.IntroductionI wrote this document in the hope that it will help you achieve your goals easily. The method presented here is one I developed when I found traditional goal setting did not work for me in my work with my clients. I have since used this with my clients and found…See More

Goals and Momentum

It is the time of the year that everyone starts dishing out advice about how you should be planning and setting your goals for the new year.  Given that you are being bombarded with this from every angle, I would like to take a different approach and show you why it is that many of us give up on our goals when we should really be sticking with them.  Once you understand this principle you will be able to refocus when you come off the rails and realise what is happening. The main reason many of…See More

Connecting with Confidence at The Drake

December 2, 2010 from 9am to 4:30pm
It was Richard's first time at a networking event. He was supposed to meet a friend there that did not turn up. Richard being as shy as he was got himself a drink and picked up a magazine. When I saw this, I thought, for his own good I could not let that happen.I landed up speaking with Richard and found out that he had an interesting business. After catching up with him a couple of times after he enrolled on our connecting with confidence workshop. You should see Richard now. He is so…See More

Stealing Business from Your Competition

When we are targeting a new client, we may find that they are already doing business with one of our competitors. Normally what we do in this case is say "Oh well, they already have someone" and we leave it there. If the client is that important to you, there is another way...Play for Second Place! In your dealings with the client, position yourself as the alternate provider. You may find that the existing provider may be weak in an area where you are strong and you could start by supplying…See More

You, as a brand!

I was fortunate enough to go and listen to Steve Price speak at an event this week. In his talk one thing really resonated with me. He was saying how the best piece of advice that he ever received was "once you start thinking about yourself as a brand, that is when success will come". This is so true.Think about the value you place on the brands you associate with. You purchase those brands because you know that they are consistently good and you trust that product. You also place value in that…See More

Are you selling too fast?

I was at a networking function this last week and met an insurance consultant. He did extremely well; during the conversation he uncovered an unarticulated need (a need that I did not realise that I had) for his services. He went on to describe the impact my current situation was actually having and how I could reduce my investments and get more cover. I was intrigued. Then came the question "so would you like me to go ahead and provide you with a quote?"Now being in sales, I did not want to…See More

About me:
I'm an IT Project Manager specialising in projects that have gone off the rails.
My business name:
Revonet Limited
About my business:
We are IT Project Management Specialists. One of the biggest problems in the I.T. industry is Businesses complaining that the system they put in doesn't do what it was supposed to do. When you speak to the I.T. company they say the delivered exactly what the client asked for. The problem is that the IT company doesn't speak 'business' and the business doesn't speak 'I.T.' Thats where we come in... we ensure you get exactly what you want by translating 'business' to 'I.T.'
The best referral for my business is:
Businesses that are about to make a significant investment in I.T. and would like to ensure that they get everything they asked for.

Careful, their business is not guaranteed!

Growing up, my dad always took his car to his mate the mechanic. When we were old enough to learn to drive, and could afford cars for ourselves, we naturally took our cars to our dad's mate. But this is where the problems started...

We discovered that my dad's mates work was not that great. There seemed to be occasions where we had to keep going back to…
