Up with the birds and left Nelson at 7:00 not without a coffee though. Decided to take the inland route as we were not sure if the crayfish shop on the Kiakoura coast would be open and Rob had told us about a great little French cafe tucked away in Hamner Springs, which would be timley for brunch. Heading down the west coast - of course we got some rain, but not enought to dampen our spirits. Like most of the passes Lewis Pass is very scenic and the scenary forever changing - a bit of snow still on the hills.

Well the French cafe lived up to its name and a lemon tart, cheescake, and strawberry flan (as big as plates) later we hit the last bit of the road to Christchurch.

Arrived in Christchurch mid afternoon and had to hide the van. It is still a secret! No rest for the wicked however, we needed to set up the venue, and what a sight 7 of us emptyng the van of the precious cargo from all around NZ. Finally I could breathe a sigh of relief, we had enough boxes for the 278 members in Christchurch and even one for the Mayor, who is the guest speaker.

Well after all that travelling, meeting up with BNI chapters around the country it was finally time to relax and we joined Rob, Sam (Christchurch Directors) and their partners Kathleen and Perdita, Denise (Otago Director) and her partner Bruce, Paul and Rosemary Meyer (Auckland Directors), Graham Southwell for dinner at the Speights Ale House.

But alas not all the work was finished, Graham had the name tags - they had to be put out on the tables - no rest for the wicked.
